2015/4/25 Kashima Antlers 1-2 Vissel Kobe
Vissel Kobe returned from their away trip to Kashima Antlers with a well-deserved three points on goals from Keijiro Ogawa and substitute Hideo Tanaka.
Vissel began with plenty of desire and showed they weren't there for a draw. An early Ogawa cross saw Marquinhos forcing a save from Hitoshi Sogahata and moments later, in the 7th minute, Marquinhos' overhead kick went straight into the arms of the keeper as the away team pressured early.
Vissel keeper Kaito Yamamoto was forced into action in the 19th minute to stop a Gaku Shibasaki flick at the near post but it was Vissel who looked more likely to score as the teams went in 0-0 at the break, and score they did, just four minutes after the restart when Takahito Soma's deep cross was headed back into the danger area by Marquinhos and Ogawa half-volleyed home from close range to give Vissel the lead.
On the hour mark Daisuke Ishizu had the keeper struggling to save from close to 30 yards out as Vissel looked for more goals but it was Shibasaki who got on the score-sheet to bring the home team level on 71 minutes, his curling left foot shot sneaking in at the far post from 20 yards out.
But Vissel were not settling for a draw and Shunki Takahashi forced a fine near post save from Sogahata within minutes of the equaliser as the away team pushed for another goal.
Although deserving the three points, Vissel's winner came in fortunate circumstances, when a Jung corner was reached by Marquinhos, but all he could do was head it high into the air. Sogahata came out to collect, unchallenged, but a lack of communication saw two defenders also going for the ball and the keeper dropped it at the feet of Tanaka, who gratefully poked home the winner from close range. 2-1, three points!
