2015/5/23 Montedio Yamagata 0-1 Vissel Kobe
A Bueno header from a corner in the 78th minute gave Vissel Kobe all three points to bring back from their tie with Montedio Yamagata, and well-deserved the victory was!
The Brazilian centre back returned from injury to play central defence in the absence of Kunie Kitamoto, who had been covering there in recent matches - Kitamoto, too, joining Vissel's long injury list. While Pedro Junior was on the bench - as he was in the Nabisco Cup midweek victory at Yokohama F.Marinos - the team was still unable to select the likes of Marquinhos, Masatoshi Mihara, Michihiro Yasuda and Takahito Soma as manager Nelsinho tried to gain some consistency in his team selection.
Watanabe started as he was to go on, getting his first chance after just two minutes, his shot just clearing the crossbar after Morioka's smart pass gave him the opening.
Kaito Yamamoto in the away goal was forced into action in the 12th minute, getting down to a knocked-on header by Alceu from an inswinging free kick. Ryohei Hayashi then hit the bar with a shot before the break but the game went in scoreless at half time.
Keijiro Ogawa made a chance for himself with perseverance just after the hour mark, but then elected to pass when the shot was on, and his aside was intercepted.
With time running out it was left to Bueno to break the deadlock with his first professional goal and give Vissel the victory!
Next up for the team comes a Nabisco Cup tie against Shimizu S-Pulse on Wednesday night at Noevir Stadium, closely followed by the visit of struggling Vegalta Sendai on May 30th. Two wins would be nice!
Team - Yamamoto, Iwanami, Bueno, Masukawa, Jung, Morioka, Shu.Takahashi (Maeda, 71), Okui, Ogawa (Pedro Junior, 66), Watanabe, Ferrugem (Tanaka, 78)
