2017/4/30 Vissel Kobe 0-1 Ventforet Kofu
Vissel Kobe 0-1 Ventforet Kofu
Vissel Kobe were all over this game. Ventforet Kofu took home three points. There. That's all that should be needed here!
After a home defeat by Kashiwa Reysol that could easily have been a win (especially as the winning goal has been shown clearly to have been a handball). After an away trip to Sagan Tosu when, again, all three points were there for the taking, this match, after which Ventforet Kofu manager Tasuma Yoshida praised the home team and admitted his boys were lucky... after all this, and with the likes of Leandro, Keijiro Ogawa and more missing through injury (and Lukas Podolski still to come), surely the bad results have all been done now! Many are saying that there is a Championship-winning team hidden among these losses... they're about to be discovered!
Yoshiki Matsushita had the goalkeeper working early, while Kotaro Omori shot straight at the custodian after a fluid move that created space for the shot. Despite all the possession it was Yuki Horigome who headed home from close range seven minutes before the break to decide the match.
The home team came out for the second period and continued to dominate play, Matsushita curling an effort very close within a minute of the restart. Kazuma Watanabe then shot straight at the grateful 'keeper and, well, let's just say Vissel had the possession, the chances, but not the finishing to win this one. Podolski, and then Leandro could be winning games with ease by the time this team gets the bad results out of their system!
