V-Varen Nagasaki 0-1 Vissel Kobe
Vissel Kobe came home from Nagasaki with a well-deserved three points all be it from just a narrow 1-0 away win, on Wellington's goal six minutes before half time.
Vissel went into this with centre back Yuki Kobayashi given a start on his 18th birthday, as he lined up alongside Hirofumi Watanabe and played almost the full 90 minutes before being replaced to an appreciative round of applause in the 86th minute.
The game was mainly played at the pace that the away team dictated with half chances coming before Naoyuki Fujita rattled the crossbar from long distance in the 19th minute. Four minutes later a Thherathon cross was met by Kazuma Watanabe who saw his header saved down low at the post as Vissel looked for goals.
It was another Theerathon cross that finally provided Wellington with the ammunition to give his team the lead in the 39th minute! Wellington had another header saved a few minutes later and he, along with Kazuma Watanabe, Junya Tanaka and Hirotaka Mita all had chances to extend the score but in the end that single Wellington strike was enough to give Vissel the well-earned three points.
