Vissel Kobe 0-5 Kashima Antlers
After last weekend's 4-0 thrashing at Urawa Reds, Vissel Kobe' selection was back to one that had been bringing good results in past weeks, with Masatoshi Mihara back at right back and Theerathon back on the left. Kyogo Furuhashi also returned to the starting line-up after being on the bench last week. All those changes were for nought, though, as Vissel were embarrassed 5-0 - at home - by Kashima Antlers.
It was the 30th minute before the home team finally went behind, to a Leo Silva goal, but then four more, different scorers put their individual marks on the game and Vissel were five games in a row lost. This writer is not really sure if the away team were good or that the Vissel Kobe defence was just so bad.
Leo Silva's opener saw a low cross from the left pass four defenders to find Silva wide open at the far post. Daigo Nishi's goal for the second was a corner headed on and the scorer was again totally unmarked a yard from goal! Antlers' third goal came when Vissel 'keeper Kim Seung-gyu was robbed with ease by Yuma Suzuki, who then proceeded to tap the ball into an empty net.
Serginho added a fourth goal with a left foot shot from the edge of the area and Takashi Kanamaori deflected a Shoma Doi shot past the goalkeeper for the 5-0 goal in additional time.
